PACAWA is the peak professional association of psychotherapists and counsellors in Western Australia. It seeks to advance the professions of counselling and psychotherapy and to serve both its members and the public. PACAWA is the only state-based association in WA broadly representing counsellors and psychotherapists that is affiliated with PACFA, the national professional body, and as such it is the key representative of the field in Western Australia.

PACAWA offers numerous benefits to members, including the promotion of member services, and it aims to foster a cohesive and sustaining professional community. Consumers can access a counsellor (Perth and regional WA) or psychotherapist (Perth and regional WA) who has a recognised high standard of training and ethical practice, seek information about matters relating to psychotherapy and counselling, or direct concerns about the professional conduct of a member of the Association.
