Whatever the cause, abuse and neglect, can have long-standing consequences for a child. Effective and early intervention is critical in responding to situations of abuse or risk. This course outlines the processes of assessment and case planning in child protection work, focusing primarily on the importance of case planning and collaborative practice.

In this course you will learn: the consequences of abuse and neglect; recognising when a child or young person is at risk; an overview of assessment, intervention and case planning; an introduction to case planning and review; and working in collaboration with other professionals.
