Over the past 17 years, Mental Health Academy has contributed more than $2.6 million (AUD) to support a wide range of local and global social impact initiatives. In this article, part of our 2024 in Review series, we highlight the tangible impact of over $300,000 (AUD) in donations (during 2024) directed towards social initiatives that we deeply care about:
- Funded 570 hours of integrated therapy for 30 children who experienced abuse or neglect, through Act for Kids.
- Funded 792 days of school education to poor children in Vietnam, through B1G1.
- Funded 654 days of life-saving healthcare for impoverished communities in Kenya, through B1G1.
- Funded 618 meals to orphaned/at-risk children in Thailand, through B1G1.
- Funded 456 days of support to prevent school-aged girls from being trafficked into the commercial sex industry in Cambodia, through B1G1.
Other initiatives MHA supported in 2024 include training for novice and disadvantaged therapists, counselling services for underserved and never-served communities, suicide prevention and postvention initiatives, and mental health awareness campaigns.
