Building Resilience Through Values: The Radiant Rainbow of Resilience
Building Resilience Through Values: The Radiant Rainbow of Resilience
In this course, Dr. Manaan Kar Ray explains how values-based language can cultivate resilience in schools by reframing education as a living ecosystem – where hope becomes the soil, relationships become the roots, and seven “radiant” values make “post-storm” strength visible in everyday classroom life.
About this course
In this course, psychiatrist and suicide prevention educator Dr. Manaan Kar Ray, Associate Professor and Director of Adult Mental Health, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, introduces a values-based, whole-school resilience framework that translates evidence-informed concepts into practical classroom culture. The course maps an “all-of-school continuum” of values learning, clarifies how the HOPE framework operationalises meaning and action, and shows how teachers can build shared language and daily rituals that strengthen emotional literacy, connection, and growth. Clinicians and educators will gain a transferable model for supporting distress upstream – by embedding resilience as a lived culture rather than an add-on program – while retaining clear pathways for practical application across developmental stages.
