About this course

In this course, Wykisha McKinney (Zero Suicide Program Manager for the Harris Center, Loss Division Chair for the American Association of Suicidology, and the Board Chair of the Southeast Texas Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide) briefly defines the Zero Suicide concept as a nationally recognised best practice and provides a rationale for its implementation. McKinney explains the thrusts at each level of the Texas Suicide Safe Care Model (state, community, and behavioural health system) and outlines the work the Harris Center is doing with respect to each of the core elements of the Zero Suicide approach.
