About this course

In this introductory course to diagnosing mental health disorders, interviews with two healthcare and educational professionals introduce the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) and the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) as they are used in real-world situations, along with a brief history of mental health diagnostic criteria. Note: We recommend that you complete this course prior to undertaking other courses in the &ldquo;Diagnosing Mental Health Disorders&rdquo; collection. <p>&nbsp;</p> <b>DSM-5-TR update:</b> While this video discusses mental conditions in terms of how the diagnosis would be treated in the DSM-5, the current iteration of the DSM is the DSM-5-TR. However, the clinical material discussed in this video is still current.
