About this course

As artificial intelligence becomes woven into the fabric of mental health care, new ethical frontiers emerge. This course explores how you can engage critically and responsibly with AI-driven tools – from chatbots and diagnostic algorithms to virtual reality therapies and digital monitoring systems. You examine both the promise and the peril of these technologies through the lens of core ethical principles such as beneficence, justice, transparency, and professional competence. Through case analysis and reflective inquiry, you will discover how to integrate innovation with integrity, ensuring that technology enhances rather than erodes the humanity at the heart of therapeutic work.

This course is the fourth in a five-course series offering a deep-dive examination of how ethics in mental health practice has shifted to adapt to the digital age.
