In this course, Bronwen Edwards, CEO of Roses in the Ocean, explains what co-design is, provides a theoretical rationale for it, and outlines the essential elements for a successful co-design process. Edwards reviews the features of the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) and experience-based co-design, showing how these align with the co-design principles of Roses in the Ocean. Edwards elaborates on the considerations when co-designing in suicide prevention, including the importance of using appropriate language and managing expectations and power imbalance.
