About this course

Technology and strides forward in digital understanding have forever changed the landscape of the world – including the ethics of how we approach such things within mental health care. This course explores the ethics of telehealth, social media engagement, and artificial intelligence and integrates them into a coherent framework for ongoing professional integrity. It focuses not only on what ethical decisions to make, but how to maintain an ethical orientation when technological conditions change faster than policies or professional norms can keep pace. We explore how to cultivate ethical fitness, moving from a rule-based understanding of digital ethics toward an embodied ethical identity, carrying forward a sense of moral purpose that is as flexible as the technologies it governs.

This course is the final part in a five-course series offering a deep-dive examination of how ethics in mental health practice has shifted to adapt to the digital age.
