Internal Family Systems (IFS) for "Borderline Personality Disorder"/Early Developmental Trauma

In this course, Stephanie Mitchell explores the Internal Family Systems approach to working with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), encouraging learners to draw their own understandings of the “parts” of a person that contribute to distress, with the aim of approaching them with respect and compassion.

About this course

In this course, Stephanie Mitchell (Ambassador of the IFS Foundation and Director of Connection Heals Psychotherapy Centre) explores the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to working with clients diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Using the non-pathologising & meaning-making framework of IFS, Mitchell draws our focus to the significant dysregulation, inner distress, and difficulties of management that this population experiences. She then encourages learners to draw their own understandings of the various “parts” of a person that contribute to this distress and provides strategies for approaching these parts with respect and compassion.
