About this course

In this course, Prof. David Kavanagh, Queensland University of Technology, underscores the potential for digital programs and resources to impact positively on mental health and cites several studies supporting their use clinically. Kavanaugh explains numerous ways digital mental health resources can be used, from mere recommendations for self-management to coaching clients – and showing other practitioners how to coach someone – in their use. Noting the huge proliferation of e-mental health sites, Kavanaugh examines several he believes are particularly helpful, including several international sites. Discussion ensues as to what users should look for in a digital mental health resource, and Kavanaugh shares an app he developed to ensure a high-quality evaluation.
