Aaron Albright is a Deaf counsellor-in-training, researcher, and ultramarathon runner who integrates lived experience with clinical, academic, and advocacy work on disability and neurodiversity.

Expert Bio

<p>Aaron earned his M.Ed. in clinical mental health counselling at the University of Lynchburg, and he is a current Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at Old Dominion University. He was born Deaf and wears a cochlear implant. He uses his lived experience as a disabled man to inform his research and advocacy interests, having presented at 5+ conferences about topics related to disability, neurodiversity, and intersectionality. Aaron has clinical experience in intensive outpatient behavioural health programs, private practice, and collegiate mental health counselling. Beyond his academic, professional, research, and advocacy interests, Aaron is also an ultramarathon runner and seeks to encourage people of all abilities to find spaces or activities that bring them fulfillment, joy, and empowerment. </p>
