<p>Dr. Adam Hill is a public health sociologist at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), La Trobe University. His research focuses on LGBTIQ health and wellbeing, social capital and HIV risk-taking behaviours, and suicide risk among LGBTIQ people in Australia and Japan. </p><br/><p>Adam is currently working on a number of projects at ARCSHS including: Writing Themselves In 4, the largest national study of the health and wellbeing of young LGBTQA+ people living in Australia; Private Lives 3, the largest national survey of the health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ adults in Australia; HIV Futures, an ongoing project examining the quality of life of people living with HIV; and the Asia Pacific MSM Internet Survey (APMIS): A pilot survey of HIV related experiences and needs among men who have sex with men in Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan. All projects include close consultation with community and government partners to ensure alignment with policy and program development need.</p><br/><p>Adam has also conducted a variety of national studies in Japan that explored suicidality and HIV risk and prevention among gay and bisexual men, including: HIV risk-taking behaviours among non-community-attached gay and bisexual indigenous men in Okinawa; and the largest survey of suicidality and HIV risk-taking behaviours among gay and bisexual men in Greater Tokyo and Kyushu.</p>
