Dr. Carlos P. Zalaquett is a Professor in the Department of Department of Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education at The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State). He is the Vice-President for the US and Canada of the Society of Interamerican Psychology (SIP), the president-elect of the Pennsylvania Mental Health Counselors Association, and the past-president of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association (FMHCA) and the Suncoast Mental Health Counselors Association (SMHCA). Dr. Zalaquett is the co-author of the internationally acclaimed books “Intentional Interviewing and Counseling: Facilitating Client Development in a Multicultural Society” and “Essentials of Intentional Interviewing: Counseling in a Multicultural World” (Ivey, Ivey, & Zalaquett, 2015, 2013), and has published more than 60 scholarly articles. He serves as a faculty, trainer, and consultant for various academic institutions and is an internationally recognized expert in counseling, mental health, and psychotherapy. He has conducted trainings in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, El Salvador, Chile, Colombia, Guatemala, Singapore, and the United States.
