Expert Bio

Carmen is a suicidologist and psychologist working across industries, currently focused in healthcare reform, actively implementing the Towards Zero Suicides Framework. Prior roles include provision of therapeutic services and brief interventions for youth (in Headspace), pain clinic and occupational rehabilitation, and as Director of Suicide Risk Assessment Australia. She has designed a range of national training programs in suicide prevention, including suicide aftercare and approaches to suicide prevention in children and adolescents, while also lecturing in the Masters of Suicidology program with Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention, Griffith University. Carmen’s expertise is recognised in strategic implementation of suicide prevention, as a Faculty Member in Adopting the Zero Suicide Prevention Framework with Safer Care Victoria.
