Eight Matallana is an NBCC MFP Masters fellow, currently researching psychedelic harm reduction, as well as advocating for accessibility, education, and ethical frameworks around psychedelic-assisted therapy. Her work aims to bridge indigenous wisdom with the dominant Eurocentric frameworks of today’s mental health care culture.

Expert Bio

Eight Matallana is an NBCC MFP Masters fellow. She was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in America within a multicultural family. Eight is passionate about building safe and inclusive environments, which includes creating educational resources to elevate cultural humility among practitioners.<br><br>She is currently researching psychedelic harm reduction, as well as advocating for accessibility, education, and ethical frameworks around psychedelic-assisted therapy, particularly as it pertains to the needs of PGM populations. Eight has trained in Psychedelic Integration with Marc Aixalà, and she is currently a board member at Bendable Therapy, which provides Oregonians with opportunities for accessible psychedelic-assisted therapy. Overall, Eight aims to bridge indigenous wisdom with the dominant Eurocentric frameworks of today’s mental health care culture.
