<p>Dr. Jamal Boudion holds a Ph.D. in counsellor education and supervision and is a National Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor in Louisiana. He is a school counsellor and adjunct faculty member, focusing on young Black men in counselling, mental health awareness, and representation in marginalised communities.</p>

<p>Dr. Jamal Boudion received a Ph.D. in counsellor education and supervision, a master’s degree in counselling, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, all from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, Louisiana. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Louisiana. In 2022, he was an NBCC Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) Doctoral Fellow.</p></br> <p>Dr. Boudion is a school counsellor at CT Janet pre–K through 8th grade School in Marrero, Louisiana, which is in the Jefferson Parish School District. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the counselling graduate program at the University of Holy Cross. Dr. Boudion’s research revolves around young black men as counsellors. Along with counselling and teaching, Dr. Boudion has dedicated his career to bringing more awareness to Black men as school counsellors, Black men who are counsellors and counsellor educators, and mental health awareness within the Black church.</p></br> <p>Dr. Boudion’s experience includes working with children and adolescents who may be dealing with cognitive, emotional, and other behavioural concerns. He has also worked with Black men who deal with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues.</p></br> <p>Dr. Boudion realises the importance of representation within the counselling field that can assist with bridging the gap between mental health and marginalised communities.</p>
