Karin Heartwell is a writer, disability inclusion advocate and speaker. She creates and delivers workshops and seminars for mental health professionals and workplaces interested in raising their awareness around accessibility, ableism and true inclusion.

<p>Karin Heartwell is a former grief and trauma counsellor who lives with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune disease that deteriorates and worsens over time. Her health struggles have brought on unexpected changes to her work which have led her to increasing her advocacy and awareness work. She delivers educational workshops for mental health professionals and anyone interested in social and disability justice and is available speaking engagements on the matter as well.</p> <p>Karin has completed her Diploma of Counselling at Estrada College in 2016 and her bachelors of Psychological Science at ACAP in May 2025. Karin also holds a Cert IV in Community Services (2012) and a journalism degree (2009). She has worked as a journalist for a decade before moving into disability support work and counselling for almost ten years.</p> <p>Karin is delivering educational workshops in the hope to reduce ableism in the workplace and the world at large and to create a truly inclusive community.</p>
