<p>Kervins Clement provides clinical mental health services for individuals, couples and families. He specialises in addiction, particularly sex addiction, and has been trained within a variety of modalities, including Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, EMDR, and Sex Addiction.</p>

<p>Kervins Clement is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for Counseling and Counselor Education. His dissertation is focused on exploring the experiences of Black men struggling with sex addiction and how culture is integrated in their treatment.</p> <p><br />Kervins provides clinical mental health services at Lewisville Family Counseling, as well as individual, couples, and family counselling. He specialises in addiction, particularly sex addiction, and has been trained within a variety of modalities, specifically Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, EMDR, and Sex Addiction. Kervins has given over 14 presentations at the local, state, and international level. </p> <p><br/>Kervins’ vision is to help people break free from addiction in general but specifically sex addiction. He plans on accomplishing this vision through education and quality mental health services. Kervins’ main population are people with minority backgrounds or those who live in underserved communities – in particular, the Haitian community; as a Haitian himself, this community is close to his heart. He is committed to creating radical change around addiction work within these kinds of communities. Kervins founded Clement Counseling and Consulting, PLLC in 2021 to help him achieve this vision. He plans to use his business to educate, advocate, and allocate resources for people with minority backgrounds or those who live in underserved communities.</p> <p><br/>Kervins has also been fortunate to receive awards for his hard work - most recently, the 2022 Smiley Award - SOE Global Education Ambassador, the NBCC Minority Fellowship Award, Doctoral (2021-2022), and the Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the International Association of Addictions & Offender Counselors (IAAOC). He also received the 2021 Empowerment Scholarship Award from IITAP.</p> <p><br/>Kervins is also serving at the international level through IAAOC as the newsletter editor, in his commitment to helping the counselling field and addiction community evolve, so they can be accessible to all people.</p>
