Dr Krista Fisher is a Research Fellow at the Movember Institute of Men’s Health, and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Her doctoral research developed the first theory of young men’s anxiety and mapped their help-seeking pathways across community and emergency services.

<p>Dr Krista Fisher is a Research Fellow at the Movember Institute of Men’s Health, where she leads research exploring how digital spaces—such as social media, dating apps, pornography, AI and gaming—shape young men’s health, wellbeing and relationships. Her work centres on improving young men’s mental health by examining the masculinity content they encounter online and how it influences their beliefs, behaviours and sense of identity.</p><br> <p>Krista is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where she completed her Ph.D. in 2024 on young men’s anxiety. Her doctoral research developed the first theory of young men’s anxiety and mapped their help-seeking pathways across community and emergency services. A strong advocate for a whole-of-community approach, Krista’s work aims to ensure that supporting young men benefits not only them, but everyone around them.</p>
