<p>Dr. Leslie Ellis is an author, educator, presenter & researcher, and a leading expert in the use of somatic and experiential practices for clinical work with dreams and nightmares. Her influential book, <i>A Clinician’s Guide to Dream Therapy</i>, is now in its second edition, and is just one in the substantial collection of publications about experiential dreamwork and nightmares that Dr. Ellis has created – including their relationship with the autonomic nervous system, physical and mental health and suicide risk.</p> <p> </p> <p>With a wealth of more than 25 years of experience, using a confluence of focusing and Jungian techniques to alleviate anxiety, depression and the effects of trauma, Dr. Ellis also taught as adjunct faculty at Adler University and is a former president of the Focusing Institute. For 10 years, she coordinated and taught a Vancouver-based focusing-oriented therapy certification program for practicing therapists and graduate students.</p> <p> </p> <p>Leslie also has ten years of experience as a business & science journalist, serving as editor of BCDiscovery Magazine & its successor, Monitor (British Canada’s magazine for the advanced technology industry), and editor of the high tech section, Vancouver Sun. As a freelance writer, her work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers, including Globe and Mail, BC Business and Canadian Geographic.</p> <p> </p> <p>Her approach to teaching and psychotherapy combines experiential, somatic and imaginal approaches. She runs Inward Bound, via The Jung Platform and the International Focusing Institute.</p>
