Dr. Michael Brooks is a Counselor Education Associate Professor at North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Brooks is a member of the doctoral faculty where he primarily teaches students in the Rehabilitation Counseling and Rehabilitation Counselor Education program. His favorite subjects to teach include Advanced Multicultural Counseling and Social Justice, Counseling Supervision, and Qualitative Analysis courses. Dr. Brooks’ career in academia began after he accepted a one year Visiting Professorship at the University of Florida in 2003. He was also a faculty member at UAB (Birmingham) from 2004 -2013, before landing at his current position at NCAT. Brooks has a BA in Psychology from Morehouse College, and a MA and Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Central Florida. Prior to a beginning a career in higher education, Dr. Brooks worked in government mental health, substance abuse, and employee assistance.
