<p>Prue Walker is a clinical social worker with extensive experience in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), child protection, and out-of-home care. She holds a Master of Arts in Social Policy from RMIT and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Melbourne. Prue has worked in leadership roles in Victoria and the Northern Territory, managing services in Adoption/Permanent Care and therapeutic contact centres. In 2009, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship, which allowed her to study FASD care models in the United States and Canada, informing her work in supporting children and families affected by FASD.</p> <p> </p> <p>Currently, Prue serves as the Clinical Coordinator for the FASDConnect program at Monash Children’s Hospital, where she works to enhance FASD identification and care, especially within the child protection system. She provides training and consultation through her private practice, helping families, professionals, and organisations better understand and support individuals with FASD. Prue has delivered numerous workshops on FASD and trauma, aiming to improve care strategies for those in complex care environments.</p> <p> </p> <p>In recognition of her contributions to the field, Prue received the 2024 HESTA Excellence Award for Individual Leadership in Allied Health and the Monash Health Allied Health Award for excellence in clinical practice. Her work continues to focus on improving outcomes for children and young people with FASD through education, training, and advocacy.<br /> </p>
