She specialises in integrated care—helping mental health professionals work effectively within medical settings to support patients managing chronic illness, stress-related conditions, and lifestyle changes.</p> <p> </p> <p>Dr. Allen currently serves as an Education and Implementation Specialist at the Center for Integrated Healthcare, a national center of excellence within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, she leads nationwide trainings on evidence-based approaches to mental and behavioural health integration, equipping clinicians to confidently collaborate with medical teams and provide whole-person care.</p> <p> </p> <p>With over a decade of experience in integrated primary care and specialty medicine settings, Dr. Allen brings a practical, systems-informed lens to her teaching. Her courses are designed to be immediately applicable, bridging the gap between clinical theory and the fast-paced realities of healthcare environments. She blends cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and behavioural medicine tools to support providers in delivering brief, targeted, and effective interventions.</p> <p> </p> <p>Dr. Allen earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is licensed through PSYPACT to provide services in over 40 states.
