<p>Samantha Airhart-Larraga has a Ph.D. (2018) in counsellor education and supervision from the University of Texas at San Antonio, an M.A. (2002) in counselling from St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX, and a B.A. (1997) in psychology from the University of Texas at Brownsville (now the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley). She is a National Certified Counselor since 2005, a Licensed Professional Counselor (Texas) since 2005, and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (Texas) since 2000.</p> <p><br />Dr. Airhart-Larraga has over 20 years of experience as a counsellor serving people of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds – primarily those of a Hispanic/ Latino background. She has also worked in the addictions field for over 22 years. Dr. Airhart-Larraga is fluent in Spanish and has focused on providing culturally relevant counselling services to underserved clients in Texas using cognitive behavioural therapy and person-centred therapy as well as culturally relevant LPC supervision to novice counsellors. </p> <p><br/>Dr. Airhart-Larraga has a passion for advocacy and service and served on the NBCCF MFP-AC Advisory Council from 2018 to 2022; as the chair in 2022. Most recently, Dr. Airhart-Larraga was selected to serve as a board member for the Center for Credentialing and Education. Dr. Airhart Larraga currently works as an assistant professor in the counselling and psychology department of Texas A&M University – Central Texas in Killeen, Texas.</p>
