<p>Associate Professor Sarah Wayland is a Social Work academic with a Ph.D. (Health). She was awarded the Chancellors Medal for Doctoral Research for her landmark work in trauma and missing persons. Currently, she is employed as Head of School (Health), Associate Professor, University of New England teaching under- and post-graduate degrees to better prepare our mental health and trauma workforces, and leading national research evaluations. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Social Worker for 16 years developing frontline and leadership skills responding to trauma in the fields of missing persons and crime. With more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports, her qualitative research into missingness, suicide prevention and service delivery has been enhanced by her commitment to the authentic inclusion of lived experience voices. As an internationally-renowned missing persons expert, Sarah has shared her extensive research with The Missed Foundation and co-produced The Hope Narratives and Ambiguous Loss Masterclass</p>
