<p>Dr. Trish Hatch, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus at San Diego State University (SDSU), where she served as Director of the School Counselling Programme from 2004 until 2015, and as executive director of SDSU’s Centre for Excellence in School Counselling and Leadership (CESCaL). She is the best-selling author of <em>The Use of Data in School Counselling: Hatching Results for Students, Programmes, and the Profession</em> (Hatch, 2021; 2013) and co-author of <em>Evidence-Based School Counselling: Making a Difference with Data-Driven Practises</em> (Dimmitt, Carey, & Hatch, 2007), and the <em>ASCA National Model: A Framework for School Counselling Programmes</em> (ASCA, 2003; 2005).</p> <br><p>These texts, as well as her most recent texts, <em>Hatching Tier Two and Three Interventions in Your Elementary School Counselling Programme</em> (Hatch, Kruger, Pablo, & Triplett, 2019); <em>Hatching Results for Secondary School Counselling: Implementing Core Curriculum, Individual Student Planning</em>, <em>and Other Tier One Activities</em> (Hatch, Triplett, Duarte, & Gomez, 2019); and <em>Hatching Results for Elementary School Counselling: Implementing Core Curriculum and Other Tier One Activities</em> (Hatch, Duarte, & De Gregorio, 2018); are used throughout the world in professional development and preparation of school counsellors. She also recently self-published <em>Pilots, Passengers, Prisoners & Hijackers: An Educator’s Guide to Handling Difficult People While Moving Forward </em>(Hatch, 2018), a book derived from nearly 20 years of workshops and keynote speeches she’d given on the topic.</p> <br><p>Dr. Trish Hatch is the founder and CEO of Hatching Results, LLC, an education consulting company which provides professional development, consultation, grant writing, and programme evaluation services to support school counsellors, administrators, and school districts in the design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of school counselling programmes. Well regarded within the profession as an advocate and national leader, Dr. Hatch served as a consultant and advisor on school counselling and educational issues for the White House and the U.S. Department of Education under the Obama administration. In 2014, she co-led the organisation and planning of the second “invitation-only” White House Convening on School Counselling at SDSU. </p> <br><p>A former school counsellor, site and central office administrator, state association president, and American School Counsellor Association (ASCA) Vice President, Dr. Hatch has received multiple national awards, including ASCA’s Administrator of the Year award and its highest honour, the Mary Gehrke Lifetime Achievement award. She most recently received the National Association for College Admission Counselling’s (NACAC) Excellence in Education Award, previously awarded to First Lady Michelle Obama, and Senator Tom Harkin, as well as the inaugural California Association of School Counsellors’ School Counsellor Educator of the Year award. </p>
