About this course
This is the third of a 5-part sequential series by Dr. Greg Brigman, Ph.D. The series provides therapists who work in schools with a tested framework to develop a practical and engaging teacher wellbeing program. In Part 3, Dr. Brigman proposes exercise as a “miracle cure” to reduce the incidence of many diseases and achieve high levels of wellbeing. Using a neuroscience-informed approach, Brigman explains the role of factors such as the mitochondria, BDNF, and HGH to not only attain the well-known benefits of exercise (such as strength, cardiovascular fitness, and metabolic boost), but also to help create a host of system-wide benefits such as immune system strengthening and telomere protection. The question is discussed of how much exercise, and what type, is needed.
