About this course
This is the fourth of a 5-part sequential series by Dr. Greg Brigman, Ph.D. The series provides therapists who work in schools with a tested framework to develop a practical and engaging teacher wellbeing program. In Part 4, Dr. Brigman uses this lecture of the “Whole School Wellness Begins with Teacher Wellbeing” series to share the centrality of supportive social relationships to wellbeing. Citing the very long-running Harvard studies of both Harvard students and inner-city Boston youth, Dr. Brigman emphasises the importance of social support for minimising the effects of stress, improving health, and decreasing mortality risk. He discusses ways to build social support and introduces the practice of mindfulness, along with facilitating a running review of the participative aspects of the course.
