Since 2007, Mental Health Academy has donated over $2.4 Million in support of various local and global social impact initiatives. In this article, the last of our 2023 in Review series, we showcase some of the social impact initiatives and charities we’ve supported in 2023.
Some of the causes we’ve been proud to support in 2023 include:
- Preventing and treating child abuse and neglect in Australia, through Act for Kids (donated $112,725 to fund various services).
- Breaking the cycle of poverty through education by helping kids attend school in Vietnam, through B1G1 (funded 1,584 days of education).
- Providing life-saving healthcare for impoverished communities in Kenya, through B1G1 (funded 1,308 days of medical support).
- Feeding orphaned/at-risk children in Thailand, through B1G1 (funded 1,236 meals).
- Creating safe families and communities by preventing school-aged girls from being trafficked into the commercial sex industry in Cambodia, through B1G1 (funded 912 days of support).
Other projects MHA contributed to in 2023 (with nearly $250,000 in donations) include training for mental health professionals, counselling services for underserved or never-served communities, suicide prevention and postvention initiatives, awareness campaigns, and much more.
